At Acorn Psychology, we are a group of clinical psychologists and clinical psychology registrars based in Canterbury, Victoria. We share a belief that best practice psychological therapy offered within a warm and supportive environment can be life changing. We complete assessments in line with the Practice Guidelines, for children and adults. We utilise a model of care to support our clients with CBT based skills, while working on rebuilding self-esteem and sense of self. We also work with functional supports around executive function.
We work with children, adolescents and adults and draw from our combined experience in hospital, university, community and private practice settings to offer a service that is both professional and compassionate. As a team, including outstanding and caring reception staff, we seek to ensure that our clients receive the highest quality assistance from the moment they first make contact.
Dr Kelly Murray (Practice Director): Kelly is an experienced clinical psychologist and director at Acorn Psychology. A longstanding member of the Australian Psychological Society and the College of Clinical Psychologists, she currently serves as State Chair of the Clinical College. Approaches include: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Interpersonal Process Therapy (IPT), EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and the Tuning in to Kids and Tuning in to Teens programs.
Meg Blackie: Meg enjoys working with clients through many of life’s challenges. She has a special interest in working with clients experiencing anxiety-related disorders, including OCD and social anxiety, and highly values her work supporting those who have experienced a history of trauma. Meg also finds her work supporting clients experiencing grief, depression, and challenges associated with ADHD to be highly rewarding.
